About Wildwood...

Founded in 1971, Wildwood offers instruction to students from Junior High through High School during two intensive week long sessions that focus on musicianship, musicality, technique and individual development. Sessions are offered based on students grade level for the upcoming school year with skills and improvement monitored throughout the week.  Coaches and counselors support and encourage students during a seven day stay away from home in Southern California in the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest.

Like all nonprofit organizations Wildwood relies on the generosity of our community partners in order to meet the needs of our students. We aim to keep our tuition low and affordable so that students can participate from all socioeconomic backgrounds. We offer scholarships through partnerships and provide assistance where we can. Without our community partners our camp would cease to exist. From music stands to percussion instruments, many items are loaned out to us and everything is trucked up to our summer site for our two week stay to ensure that students have top quality equipment.

Having the support of other music performance  organizations is vital to our growth. A big shout out of appreciation to the Orange county Flute Association for lending our students special Alto and Bass Flutes for use during camp and flute chamber ensemble music.

Having a camp in the mountains for two weeks each summer requires moving lots of equipment there so that we can operate at 100% for our students. Each summer we are thankful to the Penske Corporation for offering us as a nonprofit a discounted rental rate.

Each summer the music program at Arcadia High School generously lends us equipment for use during our operation. This partnership allows our students to have the equipment necessary for a successful week. Thank you Apaches!

Orchard Hills Middle School supports us through a library lending partnership. Band literature for both our intermediate and senior students is a wonderful way that they contribute to our mission. Thank you Orchard Hills!

Another lending partnership comes to us through the Placentia-Yorba Linda USD. Our students read so much in one week it would cost a fortune to  obtain all the literature let alone then store it for the other fifty weeks of the year. Thank you to PYLUSD for your in kind assistance.

WIMA, (Wildwood Institute of Music and Arts) is sponsored by Wildwood Music Associates, Inc., a non-profit  501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to the advancement of the "Arts" through education and performance.
