Our Daily Schedule
At Wildwood Music Camp in Southern California we believe practice makes perfect. Our students meet over the course of a week and grow both musically and socially to prepare for two cumulative concerts at the end of the week.
Each days schedule is laid out with time spent in both large and small ensembles as well as plenty of time to rest and enjoy other recreational activities organized and supervised by our Deans and Counseling Staff. A typical day at Wildwood is anything but "Typical" at home and our returning students coming back summer after summer are proof that our days are both instructional and fun.

Breakfast is followed each morning by concurrent rehearsals of our Large Ensembles(Wildwood Symphonic Band & Wildwood Symphony Orchestra). A morning break follows this leading up to small ensemble rehearsals including but not limited to; brass choir, flute choir, string quartets, and other small ensembles.
Mid-day we serve lunch in our main dining hall which is followed by a period of quiet time where students are encouraged to rest in their cabins. Wildwood Music Camp days are long, challenging and requiring lots of energy and focus. The high elevation and thinner air in the Southern California mountains forces our bodies to work harder to keep up with our daily activities. This rest period is essential so that our students can make it through a full day at Wildwood Music Camp without feeling overworked. After our rest period, students attend their respective large ensemble rehearsals continuing to prepare music selections for our concert at the end of the week. Following this ensemble is our recreation period.

Our recreation period is a great time for students to put down their instruments and really explore our Southern California mountain setting. We ask students to pack up their instruments for an afternoon "break" where everyone is encouraged to take part in recreational activities which change every day and are supervised and lead by our Deans and Counseling staff.
Various activities are part of a week long competition between cabin groups and recreation is a great opportunity where campers can take the lead just by participating in games and having fun. Recreation leads us to our dinner back in the Main Cafeteria, after which students attend their last large ensemble rehearsal before heading into each evenings different activity. So there you have it! A busy day at Wildwood Music Camp is filled with music making and lots of fun.
