Chris Popperwell - Int. Symphonic Band Conductor/Sr. Low Brass Coach

 Chris Popperwell graduated from Pasadena City College, after having marched in five rose parades, and then finished his bachelors degree from the University of Southern California (USC), and has worked towards a Masters of Music degree from Cal State Long Beach.

As a performer Mr. Popperwell holds the principal tuba position with the South Coast Symphony. He also is active as a soloist and chamber music performer with the South Coast Symphony principal brass quintet, OC Brass, and Bass Trombone with the Bones of Contention

Chris Popperwell is an active performer and educator in the Los Angeles/Orange County area. He currently teaches at Niguel Hills Middle School in Laguna Niguel CA. He has also worked as a music coach for several middle schools and high schools, and is a staff member for the Wildwood music camp, including the Director of the Intermediate Symphonic Band for the past two summers.
