Dennis Davies, Camp Coordinator

Dennis Davies Received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of California Redlands in 1962. His primary music training was as a  percussionist. He completed a Masters Degree in School Management & Administration at Azusa Pacific University in 1993.

He has held a role serving on the Board of California Music Educators Association (CEMA - Southern Section).  He has also served on the Board of the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association holding 5 different offices over the years including that of President. He has had the role of a Parade Adjudicator for SCSBOA for several years and in 1975 he was awarded as an Honorary Life Member of the SCSBOA after over a decade of commitment to the organization. He is also a recipient of the “George Perry Award for Volunteering” awarded to him for his service with the Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps.
 
From 1962 to 2001 he served as a Music Director of Band, Orchestra and Instrumental Music in the Arcadia Unified School District. He taught at First Avenue Junior High School from 1962-1972, at Foothill Junior High School from 1972-1981 and at Arcadia High School from 1982-1991.

​During his retirement he has embraced golf and travel. He has found a calling volunteering with different organizations including Sheppard’s Pantry in Glendora CA, Music Mission Kiev in the Ukraine, Mercy Chefs Disaster response team, and other church benevolent activities. When he’s not relaxing during his retirement, he continues to drive Semi trucks cross country in order to transport the music equipment and instruments for the Arcadia High School performing groups and for  Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle corps. 

Mr. Davies has served as Intermediate Band Director and Coordinator of Music Activities at Wildwood Music Camp for over 40 years. He continues to remain an active member on the Board of Directors of Wildwood Music Association. He is married with five children and ten grandchildren. 
WIMA, (Wildwood Institute of Music and Arts) is sponsored by Wildwood Music Associates, Inc., a non-profit  501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to the advancement of the "Arts" through education and performance. Students qualified to participate fully in the Wildwood Summer Music Program are accepted without regard to race or creed.
