String Orchestra - Heriberto Ramos
As a native of Los Angeles, Heriberto, grew up playing Cello within the Los Angeles Unified School District’s public school music program and later at the reputable Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA). He studied cello under the tutelage of Margaret Asato, Dr. Margaret Parkins, and Dr. David Garrett.
After receiving his Bachelors of Music in Cello Performance from the University of California Irvine, Heriberto attended the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal State Long Beach where he earned his California teaching credential in music. Heriberto is an ardent musician in the greater Los Angeles area and has played with several ensembles including MESTO, a multi-ethnic/middle eastern orchestra.
As an educator, Heriberto volunteers with the North Torrance Youth Musicians Ensemble teaching and conducting various orchestras and ensembles. Currently Heriberto happily teaches elementary instrumental music for the Garden Grove Unified School District. All of these experiences have given Heriberto first-hand knowledge of what music and education can achieve. He has made it his mission to apply his passion and training as a musician to communicate to students and audiences the life-changing effects of music.
